The upcoming OnePlus 13 is generating buzz with several advanced features. Here’s an overview of what to expect:
Display and Design
The OnePlus 13 will feature a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, also known as 2.5K. It introduces a micro quad-curved design, with subtle curvatures on the top and bottom edges, rather than the sides. Additionally, the screen will use BOE’s second-generation Oriental Screen, expected to improve brightness, smoothness, and color accuracy compared to its predecessor.
Performance and Processor
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, built on a 3nm process for better efficiency and speed. The OnePlus 13 will offer configurations starting from 16GB of RAM, with some models reportedly reaching 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It will also feature the Adreno 830 GPU, promising a 25% performance improvement over the previous generation.
Battery and Charging
The phone is expected to house a 6,000mAh battery, an upgrade from the 5,400mAh battery in the OnePlus 12. It will support 100W wired charging and possibly 50W wireless charging, though there are conflicting reports on the latter. OnePlus has opted for Si-C cell technology, ensuring a slimmer profile despite the larger battery
Cameras
The OnePlus 13 will feature a triple-camera setup, with each lens having a 50MP sensor. This includes the main sensor (Lytia LYT-808), an ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. These sensors promise better low-light performance and improved color tuning through collaboration with Hasselblad’s Master Mode technology. On the front, it will sport a 32MP selfie camera
Software and Additional Features
Running Android 15 out of the box, the OnePlus 13 will deliver the latest software experience. It is also expected to retain the alert slider and include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for fast unlocking. Reports indicate the phone could receive an IP69 rating for improved dust and water resistance
Release Date and Pricing
The OnePlus 13 is anticipated to launch in October 2024, following OnePlus’s typical release cycle. Pricing is expected to start at $799, with possible variations based on region and storage configurations
